Consultant Opportunities Throughout England
Acute Medicine
Experience clinical practice in a truly universal public service. Share and develop your expertise, and broaden your professional horizons, over a two-year period living in England and working in the National Health Service, the largest employer in Europe and acknowledged by the World Health Organisation to be one of the best health services in the world.
The International Fellowship programme is an exciting opportunity to take time out of your home career and participate in the biggest expansion and modernisation in the history of the National Health Service. It offers huge scope for suitably qualified specialists from outside the UK to continue their professional development, acquire further clinical practice experience, enjoy unparalleled science (including the chance to take part in clinical research) and extend their professional network. Through the programme so far, over 200 consultants have accepted offers and over 100 are in post.
We are looking for medical specialists at consultant level (the most senior hospital doctors in England) to take up two-year Fellowships in clinical practice. In order to practice as a Consultant in England you must have a specialist medical qualification, either recognised in the UK, or equivalent to a UK Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST). You must also have a fluent command of the English language.
UK CCST holders, either resident or non-resident in the UK, may apply. Applications for appointment on a part-time or job-share basis will also be considered.
Assistance will be given with the whole process of registering to work as a doctor in the UK, including reimbursing the relevant fees. Fellows will be entitled to claim appropriate expenses to reimburse them for the cost of relocating to England and returning to their home countries at the end of the fellowship. They will also be entitled to claim reasonable expenses to cover the costs of renting furnished accommodation for themselves, their partners and any dependent children aged 18 or under.

Closing Dates: 30th September 2004 for April 2005 interviews and 31st December 2004 for July 2005 interviews.
